Thief lists employer she stole from as reference on job application - doh!

A few months ago Sharon Platt allegedly stole $5000 or so from her employer, Murphy Motors in Williston, N.D. She then left town.

If she did steal from the company leaving town might have been a good move, but what she did next was extraordinarily dumb ..

She apparently applied for a job in Pittsburgh this past May and guess who she listed as a reference? Yeah, the company that she had allegedly stolen all that cash from - Murphy Motors!

DUH!

Her old employer alerted Pittsburgh police when someone at the place she’d been trying to get a job checked her references and she was then apprehended.
