Footprints match suspect accused of car vandalism

If you get drunk one night and feel like doing a little local vandalism just remember that the police can probably track your footprints!

In Olympia Washington a man spent some time jumping on the hoods of several cars in a used car lot causing approximately $3,400 in damage to five cars.

More cars would have likely been damaged but the man ran away when witnesses called out for him to stop what he was doing.

Shortly after the incident a Thurston County Sheriff’s deputy stopped an 18 year old who was intoxicated. He denied jumping on the cars, but the deputy was able to match the footprints on the cars hoods to the suspects shoes.

The man was also later identified by witnesses and jailed for malicious mischief.
